I don’t know what I’m getting myself into.
So, I doing something really crazy! I decided to join NaBloPoMo. Basically, I’ve signed up to post once a day for the month of November. The post below is also my first entry over there. Go visit there me to help keep me honest.
I didn’t even know I had a breakfast of my dreams until I today. When I actually had it. We went up to Ogunquit, ME for a getaway weekend with our good friends, Christine, who happens to be my cousin, and Mike. Christine’s parents have given them a gift certificate to an Inn up there for Christmas for the past 6 years. A couple of years ago, my mom decided to do that same for me and Andreas, so now we go up together. It is always a good time, and I’ll put a couple of other posts up about it (I have to save these entrys, you know!). But, back to breakfast. Cafe Amore is only open for breakfast, and attracts quite a crowd. You can always expect a wait. But, they are geniuses and you can go in, get a mug (a real mug) of coffee and go outside and sit on the porch while you wait. It’s a brillant plan. We went there on Saturday morning, and I had a good breakfast, but today – today I had “Be Still My Heart” (BSMH). BSMH is two poached eggs served atop of two german potato pancakes with melted cheddar cheese and bacon AND sausage on the side. I am typically a pretty boring breakfast person. I don’t like maple syrup, so pancakes and waffles don’t really do it for me. I usually just get bacon, eggs and homefries. And I judge my breakfast by the homefries. I like them shredded and fried – just like potato pancakes. The plate comes out and it is just beautiful. I think they must have put the dish under the broiler to melt the cheese because it was totally melted and crispy on the edges of the pancake. The yolks were hard, but it didn’t matter. The egg, with the potato pancake topped with a little hot sauce actually made me say, “this is the breakfast of my dreams”. Sadly, I could only eat one of the egg/potato “stacks” and you really can’t take breakfast to go, so now I will spend a year dreaming yet again of this breakfast. At least now I know where I can get it.

YOU’RE CRAZY! A post EVERY day?? I don’t know if I have it in me. Good luck! I’m headed over there now. Although, I do have an R rated post about something that was on the floor in my office building. But, that’s for another time.
